[Suggestion] Split L2j&Official

hey,

maby its a good idea to split L2j servers and Official servers
sinds people want only official and other L2j
its very confusing the way it is now.

It is hard to tell the difference between them in first notice.
But when you play the gameplay is totaly different.

This has been asked many times before and we still have to say no.
As soon as we would do this, we will get admins that incorrectly list the server as the wrong version. Some will do it on purpose and some accidentally. Then we will get players yelling at us because the server is not properly listed.

It would also mean something else that I have to check. Which I am not willing to do. It would require me to log into every single server and test it.
With over 450+ servers listed this would not be feasible to do.


Servers are allowed to have it in their description.
At the time of the FBI raids we restricted servers from describing what version they were using in their description. This was lifted a few months ago. Server owners accept any liability for posting such info if NCSoft approaches them.

why?, all c4 servers are off, all c5-interlude servers are l2j, most that claim otherwise are typically lying and you dont wanna play there anyway, also you can tell if a server is off or l2j on their main page and downloads section, if it claims to be c5, but gives links to download c4 with a patch, guess what probably not l2j, i just dont see a point in a feature that serperates the off from the l2j when it already exists with the c4,c5,interlude tags..

Not necessary. Supreme is C5 off, and my server is currently in C5 off open beta testing. There are also 2 or 3 more servers which use C5 client.
But Kadar is right too, he can't check every single server if it is java or off.
Only thing to distinguish the servers is what they are changing - if they replace your host file - it is java. If they replace your system folder - it is off (however there could be some exemptions)

It is not exactly true that if they request you to change your system folder it is official. I have actually been on a TON of l2j servers that either request or force you to change your system folder. Gameplay is really the only way to tell the difference.
