Voting Policy
Votes from ip resseting, proxy, programs, forced voting and any other unconventional methods, are considered invalid votes and are subject to audit/delete/adjust or even delete site without any prior notice from HopZone.Net to the users. The votes should be 1 vote from 1 user in a 24 or 12 hour interval.




We already made voting harder to cheat.

GG kadar, well said... ppl(admins/gm's) use programs to IP change every 5 minutes to keep voting in the same server, i wonder how a server with 35 persons can get at the end of the month 3000 votes LOL... keep doing a good work...

Thats true on the voting.
But on the list.
Read the announcement.
This is a temporary different metric that is being used. (I won't say which)
The normal order will return.

having 40 votes from the same ip pattern or from proxy ip addresses doesn't make sense that those two servers were voted by a maximum of 2 persons ?

We do not take in consideration if a server donated or not . We do take in consideration whoever spams the votes. We had servers that donated and spammed the vote.. their votes were wiped

i've told the players that the votes had been reset and they can vote to keep the server on a high place, we reached 28 votes while i was on my pc, and i saw 1 hour ago that we dropped to 15
if i was spamming votes i would have likely 1000 votes and not 550 at the end of the month
i checked last 40 votes statistics and didn't see anything weird but you saw it
i don't have problem with the wipe of the votes, but with the fact that you changed the rankings according to your own metric system that we will never know how it's measured

Can I ask what you would do if you were in our position?
How would you have changed the listing (temporary), to discourage the spam voters.

And to be honest, I would really like to, someday, move away from being just a vote toplist and to have other info included in the ranking of a server. Like votes+comments+other data+other data. To me that would give a more realistic idea of a top server than just votes.

On the hosts and IP's.
Reason why we do not do it that way is, we want the users to visit your site and not just go straight in game. We want to send you traffic.

1)I would put those servers in offline servers for 2-3 days
2)You could try adding rating along with votes ;)

First , sry for caps , second i have 2 examples : 1. L2 Terror which account has been banned for unknown reason ( hopzone ) , and 2. On xtremtop because the owner of zypher mu online pays the dude who keeps the top , when a romanian server surpassed Zypher , they got banned.

we don't belive in words ;) and by the way , we do ban a lot of spammers, this doesn't mean we are 'dirty'.
And something else: we do answer your concerns/problems/injuries, others don't ..... the list is big, but i'm too busy to write them all ;)
