cant get past server select

ok so so servers runing perfect i try to log in i get to server select but doesent go farther no errors etc everythings set what could be wrong i get no errors nothing its just staying at the server name select.

if own the server go to config under server.proerties i think it was and change ProtocolRevesion

min = 555
Max 999

than it should work

ok iv tried and still doesent work wierd iv done everything include port forwarding , but everythings done even norton internet security is disabled fire wall on router is to. also do i need to update my client its still at basic meaning should i get all updates. and redo server.
